Which are the books in the arrogant Earls serie by Kathleen Ayers?

The serie about the arrogant Earls is written by Kathleen Ayers and there are three books in the serie. As you might guess, the books are about three different Earls, and all of them are arrogant in their own way. The heroines in this serie are maybe not the traditional ones in historical romances, two widows and a spinster. I like that because these books are about mature women and that gives to books more interesting stories.

The best is to read these books in the correct order but it’s not as important as in other series.
Here is a guide to the books in the arrogant Earls serie and in which order you should read them:

Forgetting the Earl

Forgetting the Earl by Kathleen Ayers

Which are the books in the Bareknuckle Bastards serie by Sara MacLean?

The serie about the Bareknuckle Bastards is written by Sara MacLean and there are three books in the serie. The books are not typical historical romance books (in my opinion). There is more action, more darkness and the ladies are independent and move around without chaperons or relativs. All of the books are steamy and filled with passion.
The story of the Bareknuckle Bastards begins whit 4 babies that are born on the same day, all of them connected to each other. Three boys and one girl. The boys all have the same father, a Duke, and they are all born outside of his marriage. The girl is born by his wife, the Duchess, but the Duke is not the father.

I highly recommend that you read the books about the Bareknuckle Bastards in the correct order. This is an on-going story that needs to be read in the correct order if you want a full understanding of the events.
Here is a guide to the books in the Bareknuckle Bastards serie and in which order you should read them:

Brazen and the beast by Sarah MacLean

The second book in the Bareknuckle Bastards serie is also really good. I gave it a 4 star rating and I find it very entertaining. Really like how strong and independent Hattie is.

Here you can find my review of the book.

Daring and the Duke

Daring and the Duke by Sarah MacLean

The third book in the serie is in my opinion the weakest. Not a bing fan of this one. To me, it’s mostly annoying.

The books in the Bridgerton serie

I hope this guide and my reviews are helpful and that you will enjoy the books as much as I have.

The Bridgerton serie book number 2 – The Viscount who loved me

This is one of the best books in the serie about the family Bridgerton. The book is about the Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, the oldest of the Bridgerton siblings, and his love story with Kate. The story is a classical “cannot stand each other turns in to love”. It’s warm, entertaining and it’s hard to stop reading it.

Netflix season 2 of Bridgerton

If you have read the Bridgerton serie book number 2 – The Viscount who loved me, you will probably be disappointed when you watch season 2 of Bridgerton on Netflix. In my opinion there where too many changes from the original story in the book. In this case I prefer the book over the serie. Watching the serie, was like watching a totally different story. Both the love story between Anthony and Kate is changed, and the story/relation between Kate and her sister. Non of the changes are for the better.

The Bridgerton serie book number 2 – The Viscount who loved me

Back to the book! I highly recommend this book. The chemistry between Anthony and Kate is something else. They just cant stay away from each other even if they want to.
Anthony, who is well known rake has set his eyes to marry Kates sister. Not out of love, but out of obligation to his family and to “just get it done”. Kates sister just happens to the most popular debutant of the year and that is the only reason Anthony has set his eyes on her. Kate is very protective of her sister and she don’t have any high thoughts about rakes in general and certainly not about Anthony. Kate is determined to stop Anthony from marrying her sister
In this book you will find passion, surprising moments and a memorable love story. This is yet another book that I have read more than once and I highly recommend it if you are a fan of historical romances with passion in it.
Is this also one of your favourite books in the serie about the Bridgerton family?

Best historical romance books for the summer vacation 2023

Summer and vacation is just around the corner! Finally time for lazy days and reading. I will share 3 of my favourite historical romance books. A beautiful story, a steamy story and a classic “cannot tolerate each other turns in to love”.

Flowers from the storm

I absolutely love this book! The Duke of Jervaulx is as rake as it gets until he has a stroke and loses his ability to speak. His family hides him away in a mental asylum where Maddy is working. She and the Duke are acquaintances since before through Maddys father. This book is both interesting, exciting, moving and well written.
Laura Kinsale has written a great book and if you have not read it, it needs to be on you list of historical romance books for the summer vacation 2023.

What I did for a Duke

A house party in the English country side. An angry Duke who is looking for revenge. A young woman who thinks she knows what love is but will soon realise that her perception of love might not be the correct one. This book has it all! Easy to read, something is happening all the time. You don’t want to put the book down. And it’s steamy…. Really steamy.
Julie Ann Long is the author of this excellent book.

The sum of all kisses

Hugh and Sarah. They are not fond of each other. At all. Now they have to spend time together at a wedding in the country side. This book is very entertaining and I have read it more than once… Needless to say, Hugh and Sarah, is a favourite couple of mine.
The book is the third in the Smythe-Smith Quartet serie and written by Julia Quinn (most known for the Bridgeton serie). You can read the books standalone but the experience is better if you read them in the correct order.

Best historical romance books for the summer vacation 2023

Hope you will enjoy these books as much as I have. Which book would you recommend to someone that wants to read a historical romance book during the summer vacation?

Bridgerton season 1 vs the book The Duke and I

The premier of Bridgerton season 1 had a perfect timing. Many of us was still under lockdown because of Covid and to be honest, in desperate need of some romance!
I really enjoyed the first season. The casting was great, the chemistry between Daphne and Simon was definitely there. But how was the first season of Bridgerton compared to the book The Duke and I?

Bridgerton season 1

Compared to the book, the Netflix serie of Bridgerton season 1 had some changes in the main story but the changes that where made didn’t change the story or the characters too much. This is one of the few times when a serie is almost as good as the book.
Should you watch the serie first or read the book first? Both are equally good so in this case you can just choose what you are in the mood for.

The Duke and I

The Duke and I is an excellent historical romance book to read if you are new to the genre. The book is warm, funny and it’s easy to like the characters. A perfect book if you want to relax and enjoy a good romance story.

The Bridgerton serie

It’s the first book in a serie about the siblings in the family Bridgerton, written by Julia Quinn. The books can be read as stand alone but you will have a better experience if you read them in the correct order. Besides “The Duke and I” – these are the other books:

  • The Viscount who loved me
  • An offer from a gentleman
  • Romancing Mister Bridgerton
  • To Sir Philip, with love
  • When he was wicked
  • It’s in hiss kiss
  • On the way to the wedding

I have two favourites in the serie, and that is “The Viscount who loved me” and “To Sir Philip, with love”. Which are your favourites?
